As eager as we are to see new BlackBerry devices, such as the BlackBerry 9900, release, it is not going to happen until September. Unfortunately, RIM is encountering problems getting the BlackBerry 9900 out the door. We do not know what exactly the problem is. But we’re lead to believe that it’s not only one major problem but multiple; perhaps something to do with the supply of parts.
We’ve also heard rumors that RIM might release one more non-QNX version of the OS prior to the release of what is now being called the platform unified version of the OS. I would hate to see that happen… Getting us all excited for OS 7 and now they aren’t releasing it yet!?
Hopefully, the delay of the BlackBerry 9900 will not move the release date of other devices, like the BlackBerry 9930 or the Torch 2, to later dates. But of all things, I just wish that RIM would release the 9900 before the iPhone 5 gets out. Or else, it will push RIM further back in the bandwagon.
