The battle between the browser giant and Facebook continues as Google refuses to share the contact information to the social network. The Find More Friends option in the Social Networking site enables to track down many of your friends by using their existing Gmail account. Now, Gmail is asking to return the favor from Facebook in return of the user information. Google has changed its data sharing API, Google Contacts, so that only sites that allow their data to be accessed and passed on in the same manner as Google can use the firm’s information – report as per front line.
To make this issue big and spread bad impression about the social networking site, Facebook, Google has issues a statement. The statement states “Many other sites allow users to import and export their information, including contacts, quickly and easily. But sites that do not, such as Facebook, leave users in a data dead end.”
Google has agreed to render very little help to Facebook, as their own social networking website Google Me will be launched soon. Google Buzz and Orkut did not make much impact, however they are expecting to gain back the confidence and succeed in the upcoming venture. The next few months will bring more excitement and news relating to the information sharing between Google and Facebook.
Feel free to leave your comments and thoughts about the new social networking site form Google and the bonding between Facebook and Google.
