Steve Jobs doll sells for $2,500 on eBay
Predictably, Apple's cease-and-desist order turned the $99 action figure into a collectible
Unless it was a bogus transaction -- something you can never be sure of on eBay -- one of those Steve Jobs action figures that got so much press last month has sold online for $2,500.
The SJ Action Figure, you may recall, was hand-painted doll that sold for $99 until Apple (AAPL) complained to M.I.C Gadget -- its Chinese manufacturer -- that the toy constituted an unauthorized use of a person's name or likeness and threatened to sue under California Civil Code Section 3344.
Only 300 were made, and as iPhone Savior reports, they've started to show up on eBay. What makes us a little suspicious about the $2,500 sale is that there was only one bid -- for the full asking price -- and within a few days another SJ Action Figure auction had popped up on eBay with the same $2,500 Buy It Now price.
