HP Mini 110: The Return of the slab mate!

In line with the HP Mini 1000, Mini 110 retains a similar design, and configuration based on Intel Atom become very traditional. What interests us most in this new model is its slab. HP has, in fact, had the excellent idea to include a matte tile, thus avoiding glare on the last device used everywhere.

The HP Mini 110 is available in three versions, which are all based on a hardware configuration very similar to that of the Mini 1000.
Beware, there is also a model of Compaq. This is a priori the same basis, but the configuration can be slightly different. It does not seem available on Windows XP.

As with the Mini 1000, there is a keyboard which occupies the full width available. The comfort should remain as good. The touchpad is very large, but rather narrow in height. Since the screen is wide, the choice seems rather logical. The buttons are located on the left and right, which is typical of HP netbooks.

The components common to the three configurations are:

Intel Atom N270
Intel GMA 950 graphics chipset
Screen 10.1-inch 16:9 HD LED WSVGA (1024 x 576)
Webcam + Mic
Card Reader 5 in 1, WiFi b / g
Connectors: VGA, headphone, microphone, RJ45, 3 USB 2.0

It weighs 1.31 kg with 6 cell battery for the following dimensions: 261.5 x 171.96 x 26.3 to 32.7 mm.

HP Mini 110 (version Windows XP) :

The model available with Windows XP Home comes with 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB hard drive. However, it currently has an SSD 16 GB model sold in the United States. We must therefore check will be the same in France. Other available colors are pink and white. The current price is 299 dollars.

HP Mini 110 Mi (version Linux) :

The model available in Linux (Ubuntu) is currently available in the U.S. with an 8 GB SSD, it will have the advantage of being able to spend up to 2 GB of RAM and 250 GB hard drive, while being cheaper. Indeed, the current price is 279 euros.

HP Mini 1101 (version XP ou Vista) :

This model is identical to the Mini 110, but rather is aimed at professionals who can choose between Windows XP and Vista. 3G/HSDPA option may also appear. The price remains the same as for the Mini 110, ie 299 dollars.

Various options are provided for these models, including an Atom processor N280. The XP model will be equipped with a SSD of 16 GB or 32 instead of the hard drive while the Linux model will have a choice of 8, 16, 32 and 64 GB SSD still.

The definition of the original screen is a bit weak, we can also choose a slab of HD WXGA 1366 x 768 pixels.

Finally, we can also add a chip "Broadcom Crystal Enhanced HD Video", which can decode HD videos. The original chipset is indeed enough to do this. Only the Mini 1101 will not receive this option.

These new netbooks should already be available, but it appears that they arrived in France took a little late. Currently, only the Compaq Mini 110 is sold in stores. Hopefully HP branded models will arrive shortly, which would have at least one model available with Linux, which is rare.
